  • 1.  Removing Trojan.Gen.2

I keep getting updates on my virus scanner that I have a Trojan.Gen.2 virus but it is in quarantine. I have no extensive knowledge about in depth computer operations but I have been researching this a little. I was told that trojans cannot affect Macs, but I am still worried because I don't know how trustworthy that is. How should I respond to this situation? Should I delete the virus from quarantine? Do I need to reset my computer? I would really appreciate the help, because like I said, I really have no extensive knowledge on things like this.

What's the name of the file...dwhxxx.tmp? What version? This may be a known issue. See here:

When new virus definitions are in place and the quarantine is being scanned, a DWH file is created and detected by Auto-Protect

    Hi jmac2012,

They can, and do.  &: )

Can you provide an example of what sort of malware activity you are seeing in your logs?  Also please do provide the details on what version of SEP you are using on that Mac.

    Many thanks!
