Renaming Computer in DS Console

Hi all,

i've made a script to change my compuer name after an unattend install of Windows XP, it works fine, but how i can make the new name of the computer to be changed on the DS Console, it's still the same name from the first install?

Syncronise console display name to computer name

Solution

Hi,

It sounds like you haven't enabled the option to syncronise the console name to the computer name . You see, by default DS allows you set a different name for the computer object to its netbios name.

To syncronise these two do the following,

  1. From the tools menu bar item, select options.
  2. In the Program Options window, select the Globals tab
  3. Check the box "Syncronise display names with computer names"
  4. Click "Apply"
