I am trying to go through the steps laid out in Article ID TECH 171767 to replicate EPM 12.1 from my company's old server to a brand new server.  The old server is running Server 2003 - 32 bit and the new server is running Server 2008 - 64 bit.  The very first step in the Replication method is to install Symantec EPM on MACHINE_2 (new server) but the version must be the same version as what is on the old server.  Does that include having the same 32 bit architecture?  Can I go ahead and install the 64 bit version of the software on the new server and perform the replication from the 32 bit version?  If not, can I upgrade the 32 bit server to 64 bit architecture first...and then go through the replication process?  Hopefully I explained this properly.  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!

It's means Same SEPM version not OS version.

( Eg: Server 1 using SEP version 11.0.6100.645 Second Server SEPM version same 11.0.6100.645)

Thank you for your prompt response.  I went through the install on the new server, however after the install completes, the steps laid out in the "Replication partner set up" show that the Management Server Wizard should pop up.  It does not.  I have attached the steps I get up until that point.  Am I doing something wrong?  I have version 12.1 and the install folder says SEP_Small_Business_Edition_12.1.  Does this not work for the Small Business Edition?  Thanks for any further assistance!  Obviously I need it!!

    Hi,

Replication is not an option in Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.1.

    Check this Comments.

    Hello lonegator,

Replication cannot be done on Small Business Edition. However to move the SEPM from one server to another you can follow the steps below.

    1) Install the SEPM on the new server and restore the old databse to the new server.

    2) Now to get all the communication to the new server, please replace the sylink file on all the system.

    --Cheers--
