I have recently migrated Symantec from one server to another. On the SEPM homepage of the new server get a message saying "Replication Failed". Also when I look under Admin > Servers, The replication server is showing up as itself.

Should it look like this? Is there a way I can get rid of this message?

Thank you in advance for your help.

So you only have one SEPM? Was it setup to replicate with another at one point? What's the version?

    Hi Brian,

Thanks for your reply. We used the replication method of migration. So the new server used to replicate with the old server. We have switched the services off on the old server now as per the migration documentation.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community & would be glad to answer your query.

SEPM Home page shows replication status so you are looking at right place.

The second management server that you replicate data with is classified as a remote site and called a replication partner. When you remove a management server at a remote site, you need to manually delete it from all sites. Uninstalling the software from one management server console does not make the icon disappear from the Servers pane on other consoles.

    To delete a replication partner

    1. In the console, click Admin.

    2. Under Tasks, click Servers.

    3. Expand Remote Sites and select the site that you plan to delete.

    4. Under Tasks, click Delete Remote Site.

    5. Click Yes.

Check this article: Deleting replication partners

Thank you for your reply Chetan. I may not have explained myself very well. The situation is as follows:

We have migrated SEPM from server1 to server2. For some reason we now cannot log into SEPM on server1 any more. We are not to worried about that as we are going to switch server1 off anyway and all clients seem to be talking to server2 already.

The main issue I was requesting help for is that server2 has server2 (itself) as the replication site and states replication failed. Can I still delete server2 by using Delete Remote Site as you described above or will that cause an issue? I was confused as to why Server2 was trying to replicate to itself.

Yes, you should delete it. Becuase you have achieved what you had to, now there is no need of replication any more.

After successful removal of replication partner you should not see replication failed status on home page.
