  • 1.  Replication Failed to Submit and LiveUpdate failed

    Hi All,

    We are running SEPM 12.1 RU6 MP5 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL server 2008 R2 on another Windows Server 2008 R2.
    We ahve installed SEPM on D drive. Currently C drive 14.7 GB and D drive has 222 GB free space.

    Issue 1:

    Windows Definitions  
    Latest from Symantec: 08/17/2016 r19
    Latest on Manager: 08/15/2016 r22  

    Manual Live Update returns error message "August 18, 2016 3:04:33 PM SGT:  A scheduled LiveUpdate(tm) session is running. You cannot run another LiveUpdate session at this time.  [Site: yyyyyyy]  [Server: xxxxxxx]"

    I have tried Live update manually after two hours but I got the same message.

     

    Issue 2:

    Replication Failed. Error message is "Failed to Submit"

    I have found below error messages in scm-server-0 log

    SEVERE: Unknown Exception
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    Unknown Exception in: com.sygate.scm.server.task.PackageTask
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    Unknown Exception in: com.sygate.scm.server.task.IISCacheTask
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError

    SEVERE:  in: com.sygate.scm.server.task.ScheduledReportingTask
    java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: unable to create new native thread

    Recently, we have increated Java Heap but still replication getting failed. Please find attached screenshot for the same.

    Try running a repair on the SEPM. Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Highlight symantec endpoint protection manager > Change/modify > repair. 

    That should stop the existing liveupdate from running then check again if it then starts to update?

    Hi GeoGeo,

    Thanks for immediate response but I cannot repair SEPM as I have to get approval from ECAB.

    Hi Team,

    I have found another error message in SesmLu file

    SesmLu Server failed to publish the LU inventory.at SesmLu.cpp[1502]
    08/18 15:38:21 [5c20:5c3c] WARNING     SesmLu Request for server to publish the LuConfig.xml, LuDownloadedContentArray.xml and LuSesmContentCatalog.xml returned error. One or more of these files may be out of date, potentially resulting in partial or incorrect LiveUpdate downloads.

    Try the symdiag tool for further error checking:

    Download SymDiag to detect Symantec product issues

    Hello,

    Make sure the replication Schedule is not set to “Automatic”.

    Make sure Liveupdate schedule is NOT set to “Continuous” or “Every 4 hours” & Replication should not overlap with scheduled Liveupdate session. 

    Could you share ReplicationLocal-x.log and ReplicationRemote-x.log.
