Replication of file and BUE 2010R3

I have a site that I'm looking after and they have a DFR running on a server that has to be run 24/7 and yet I need to backup this server.  The issue is it taking more than 21 hours to even get done (unfortunately one of the other admins is cancelling this backup every morning)... Is there a way to get the backup done in a shorter time frame and still have the replication running?

Thanks

Hi,

Since you're running BE 2010 R3 you have access to deduplication for your backups. This should be a consideration for your, or alternatively, if you're using FULL backups, consider DIFF/INCR backups instead. You'd end up leaving the FULL backup for the weekend when it doesn't need to be cancelled.

Thanks!

How are you backing up this server?  Are you aware that to backup DSFR, you need to backup the shadow copy component?
