    Hello,

I have added  a new server sepm  to my site with already an old sepm. Each one has his own database (SQL server 2008)

Eventually I want to delete the old Sepm form the site. Before that, i test to make a replication mannualy from the new server, but i have the message below.

How can i resolve this issue?

PS: The new server has already the first priority.

    Thanks.

First server installed will have the highest priority. so if you want to perform replication, you need to initiate between first(old) and second(new). Do it from the first server. Since its replication you will find the same info on both the dbs.

Make sure both are on the same SEPM version. They need to be in order for replication to work.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your question.

If you wish to move SEPM from one machine to another with the help of replication, Replication is an option, decide whether to go or not. Because if you do replication and remove the old server that is the Primary SEPM, in future if you want to do replication you will not be able to do so.

This is by design, this is genuine warning message. Do not remove primary server from the network.

    HI,

Replication Partner Properties for a Site

You can perform the following tasks in the Replication Partner Properties dialog box:

    ·         Modify the name and information of a replication partner.

    ·         Assign a Replication Management Server List.

    ·         Specify whether to replicate client packages, LiveUpdate content, and logs.

    ·         Set up a synchronization schedule between a local site and a replication partner.

    Note:

You can only configure replication partner properties for the local site.

    Table: Replication partner information

    Option

    Description

    Partner Name

Lists the site name of the replication partner with which the local site replicates data.

    Description

Enables you to type a description about the replication partner.

    Replication Management Server List

Enables you to type the host name or IP address of each Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager you want to configure as a replication partner with this site.

Replicate logs from the local site to this partner site

If this option is checked, it replicates logs from the local site to the designated replication partner.

Replicate logs from this partner site to the local site

If this option is checked, it replicates logs from the designated replication partner to the local site.

Replicate client packages between local site and this partner site

If this option is checked, it replicates client packages and LiveUpdate content between the local site and the designated replication partner.

Auto Replicate (Let the installation instance decide when to do replication)

If this option is checked, the two replication partners synchronize at an automatic interval. This option is set by default. If you click this option, no other choices are available to you.

    Replication Frequency

If you want to specify the timing of replication, you must uncheck Auto Replicate. Otherwise you cannot select any replication frequency, such as hourly, daily, or weekly. In addition, you can select the start time and the day of the week.

    Start Time

If you selected the daily option as a replication frequency, you can then set the start time of the synchronization process.

    Day of Week

If you selected the weekly option as a replication frequency, you can then select the day of the week when synchronization must take place.

    Regards

    Ajin
