  • 1.  Replication issues

I currently have SEPM installed on two servers, one in the corporate office and the other in a remote office. The server in the remote office is set up as a replication partner of the server in the corporate office. I have the two set up in Management Server Lists for each location, i.e. the clients in corporate office pull from the server in that office, and the clients in remote office pull from the remote server.

So far I have had mixed results, the corporate office works wonderfully, all clients in corporate office pull from the server they are supposed to. However, the clients in the remote site tend to act differently. Some pull from the remote server, while some pull from the corporate server. I deployed using active directory, and I can confirm that all clients are in the correct OU according to their office.

Has anyone else seen these kinds of issues using Management Server Lists? I am trying to prevent unnecessary traffic flow between the two sites.

    Hi,

One of the possible reason's could be : --

Your SEPM may not have a directory server address with which to synchronize AD OUs.

The imported OU may have not been synchronized yet with new AD (Active Directory) members, and/or replication has not yet occurred with other SEPMs.

Setting up connections between management servers and clients
On the Policies tab, uncheck Inherit policies and settings from parent group Note: You cannot set any communication settings for a group unless the group no longer inherits any policies and settings from a parent group.
Under Location-independent Policies and Settings, in the Settings area, click Communication Settings
In the Communication Settings for group name, under Management Server List, select the management server list. NOte: The group that you select then uses this management server list when communicating with the management server.
    Click OK
