Hi,

I haven't seen anything like this...if you check the job log you should be able to see.

Transport mode is also set, so you can check your options for the job.

Thanks!

May retrieve this information from the base BEDB?

Just select  one of the two options in the job, and you are sure BE uses that one.

Otherwise you have to check through wat adapter /nic the backup is running during the backup.

If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"

You could use some kind of 3rd party text search tool to parse the XML job logs in the data folder for the text that is in the job log that indicates SAN transport was used.

Whilst it might be in the BEDB, support do not have details of where in the BEDB you might find this information.

Back in the day the BEDB schema was published.  I seem to recall it for 10 or 11d?  Why not anymore?

There is an online portal, save yourself the long hold times. Create ticket online, then call in with ticket # in hand :-) http://mysupport.symantec.com "We backup data to restore, we don't backup data just to back it up."

Without knowing for sure - I would guess that the term" Intellectual Property" might be part of the reason.

BTW "back in the day" must have been a lot longer ago than 10.x
