Reporting and notification issues
Updated: 02 Mar 2009
We run SAV CE 10.1 in our production environment. When a risk is detected, it sends an email alert to me with the infected PC, the name of the risk, and the action taken all in the body of the message. The new risk notification in SEP sends an email with the server name and IP address in the body and a 100+KB MHT attachment with the important information. Unfortunately my Blackberry can't read a MHT file plus who cares about the preyy Symantec banner and other fluff included in this file. I would prefer (and I'm sure many others would as well) either the important data in the body of the notification, or a TXT or HTML attachment if that is not possible. Who designed this anyway?
Also in SAV CE 10.1, on the console you had an overview of the clients, program rev, AV pattern rev, IP, and last check in plus some other good overview data. Where is something similar in SEPM. I have gone through many of the reports and I see a lot of pie charts, but nothing that shows me a list of client PCs with the other columns I mentioned.
Sorry for the rant,
Ned
