This issue has been solved. See solution.

I'm looking to build either a collection or report on what computers have less than 2GB of RAM installed.  After running some default reports and building collections that I would think would work I seem to get a discrepancy in my numbers.  Do you guys have any best practices or sample reports to get these numbers correct?

Clone and modify the "Memory Configuration by Computer" report

Here's what I've used if I want to generate a list of systems with memory less than a certain value.  This is on NS6.

On your NS Reports, go to:
 Assets and Inventory
  Windows
   Hardware
    Memory
     Memory Configuration by Computer

  1. Right-click on Memory Configuration by Computer, and Clone it.
  2. Click on the cloned report and click Edit this Report
  3. Under Queries, click the Edit button
  4. On the line that reads AND m.[Total Physical Memory (MB)] >= %MemorySize%
  5. change it to AND m.[Total Physical Memory (MB)] <= %MemorySize%
  6. Under Global Paramters, click the Edit button next to MemorySize
  7. Change Minimum to Maximum in the User Prompt field, just for clarity
  8. Change the Name: and Description: for clarity
  9. Click Apply
  10. Click Run this report

This has proven accurate for me.  If you see inaccuracies, what are you seeing?

I think part of the problem

I think part of the problem is the descrepancy I get when I want to do exactly < 2GB.  As Altiris tends to report this as several different numbers between 2000 and 2100 MB.

Screenshot?

Here's a screenshot of my memory report.  It reports memory exactly as physical (1024 is 512x2 or 1024x1, 768 is 512+256, etc).  The 2000MB is a virtual machine with exactly 2000 allocated.  Can you upload a screenshot of the report you get when you run the one I suggest?

Also, it may be helpful to know the purpose of the report.  That might help identify alternatives.

That was our issue was we

That was our issue was we were hoping more of a "virtual" 2GB instead of the actual phsyical amount.   Regardless I got what I needed based off of that report.  Thanks for your help!

Here's a screenshot I used to

Here's a screenshot I used to get <=2GB.  It's pretty obvious on how I can see the split between 2GB and 1.5GB.
