  • 1.  Reporting Queries in SEP....

    Hi....

At present in our n/w we have SAV 10.1.6.6000......It is geographically a huge n/w that it is split into 4 zones...East,West,North & South......and each zones have approximately 50 secondary servers and clients pointing to them..(approximately 40+...)Weekly we generate a client report to check the updation % of the clients,by clicking on each server on the console and we consolidate everything......As we our migrating to SEP......the n/w architecture is going to remain the same......We are planning to have 2 SEPM in DC.....and a GUP in the locations where there  r 300+ clients......In this scenario, what would be the best report generating option that we can configure......We need data for 4 different zones......Is that possible in real time....We also took a sample report, but it has only Virus Definition Distribution option...but it doesn's show whichever machines are offline or online.....Is that possible to get the system status and the virus defintion distribution in the same report.....Pls suggest....If not pls suggest which reporting option would best suit our environment......

    Regards,
    Monica

    Hi Monika,

In SEPM, the reports that you get from the reports page are generic representation of the logs. So it will not provide you with the specific information, like computer names. However, it can definitely help you to track down which group is running out of definitions.

You can confugure scheduled reports to automate the process.

You can also confugre notification alerts if machines are out of date. That can be achieved from Monitors->Notifications.

When you add a notification, you can select when do you want to be notified. When 10 machines are out of date, 20 or 30.

You can get the reports based on group created in SEPM. you can have different reports for different zone... Since you are going to have primary site with GUP, data from report will be realtime data..

To Add to what srinivas said, you can also get reports from the other SEPM you have installed. You can go to Reports->Quick Reports->Advanced Settings->Server-> Choose the SEPM for which you want to pull the report.
