  • 1.  Reporting for SMP 7.1

I am looking to transfer a single report from our old Altiris 6.5 NS server to our new SMP 7.1 server. Will I need to run through the whole migration wizard again, or is there an easier solution?

Along that same token, has anyone figured out how to modify a legacy report that was brought over to 7.1 from 6.5? I actually prefer the pre-silverlight reports that were on 6.5. I would rather use some old reports that I have, than rebuild with the new method.

    Appreciate any help.

Often the direct SQL isn't going to validate in NS7.  However, you should be able to export it to .xml and import it as .xml in NS7.  Alternatively, if there are no parameters, just edit the SQL, paste it into SQL Studio, run it against your NS7 database, fix any table names/column names that changed, then copy it into a new Raw SQL Query once the SQL validates in SQL Studio.

You led me to the right direction. I copied the SQL query from the NS6 reports, modified it until it worked with the new database, then created a report on NS6 with that new query. The query doesnt run on NS6 but you and export and import into NS7 and you have a working report with the old format.

    Hope this helps someone else...!
