When I run a report in Symantec Protection Center, the report shows no results. The text in the window says "Loading..." and the URL is http://localhost:8014/Reporting/Resources/filter_notfound.php?option=1. (See attached jpg.) Any suggestions what's going wrong?

    Try this also

    Test the ODBC connection.
    1.Click Start> Control Panel
    2.Open Administrator Tools
    3.Double-click Data Sources (ODBC)
    4.Select the System DSN tab
5.Double-click SymantecEndpointSecurityDSN and go through the wizard to ensure the      following settings:
               Name: SymantecEndpointSecurityDSN
               Description: <Anything>
Server: Servername\InstanceName (Only enter the server name or IP address if                   using the default instance)
               Login ID: sa
               Password: <password>

6.Leave the defaults for the rest of the items and click Finish
7.Click Test Data Source on the next page and ensure it states "Success"
    8.Click OK

Restart the IIS Admin service and its dependencies and try to login, if same result see next option:

    Try this for me:

Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Internet Information Services (name may be slightly different)

    Expand your computer

    Expand Web Sites

Right-click the website hosting the SEPM and choose properties

    Select the Directory Security tab

Under Authentication and Access Control (name may be slightly different) choose Edit...

    Check Integrated Windows Authentication

    Choose OK

    Choose OK again

Next open the Services panel (Start>Run>Services.msc) and restart the IIS Admin service and its dependencies.

Try logging in and see if this affected the results at all.

If same result see next option,

As another test in regards to IIS and permissions try this for me:

Open IIS and right-click the website we are running on and choose properties

Select the Directory Security tab and Edit Authentication and Access Control

Anonymous Access should be checked and listed here you will see the IUSR_XXXX account and password. (Note about that password: The password is automatically set by IIS, however you can change it in Active Directory if needed.)

I want you to replace the IUSR account with an Administrator account on the machine. (THIS IS ONLY AS A TEST, YOU WILL NOT WANT TO LEAVE THE ADMIN ACCOUNT IN HERE.)

Once you have entered in the account information please restart the IIS Admin Service, ensuring that its dependencies are also restarted.

Next go to Start>Programs>Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager>Management Server Configuration Wizard.

    Choose reconfigure the existing site.

Change the port from 8443 to a different port as a test (8440 or 8444 will suffice)

Re-enter all the rest of the information as it was before and let the wizard re-configure the SEPM.

Once this is completed try logging in and let me know the results.

The first check (ODBC connection): there is no DSN named SymantecEndpointSecurityDSN! Should it have been created during installation? ALso, I suppose there should be a SEP-database in SQL Server, but I don't see it. Does this mean that something went wrong during installation?

I haven't checked the second option yet, I prefer to await your answer.

    Sorry for the delay...

You wrote: "Right-click the website hosting the SEPM and choose properties". There is not site for SEPM. So I really think something went wrong during installation. Is there a way to repair the installation?

I have followed the instructions in the discussion you sent me the link for, but the result is still the same.

After that, I tried to repair sepm via Control Panel. When I select the option Repair, the system "works" for about 20 seconds, then finishes without error message, but also without result: still no content in my reports. Then I selected the option Change. This starts the Installation Wizard. There I can choose Repair or Remove. I have tried both options, but they both produce the same error message: "Error 2755. Server returned unexpected error 1640 attempting to install packagemaker C:\Windows\installer\e785c73a.msi." When I click OK, I see "Fatal error during installation".

Then I tried to rerun setup.exe form the installation package for Symantec Endpoint protection small business edition 12.0.1 AllWin_EN. I select the option Install and that returns the error message "Unable to copy installation file ( \spc.\sav.xml) to the Symantec Protection Center application".

So I get error messages trying to repair AND trying to remove sepm. Any idea what I can try next?

The instructions for manually removing SPC includes this line: "Run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility to remove Symantec Protection Center". However, when you click the link in the article, you can read that the Cleanup Utility is no longer fit for other applications than Microsoft Office. Is there another method?

I followed all the steps for the removal of SPC, including removing folders and registry keys as described in the links you provided. The only thing I couldn't do was remove SPC with Hijack, because Symantec is not displayed in the list with software that can be uninstalled.

After that, I wanted to reinstall SPC. However, that immediately gave me an error, see the attached file. Do you have any suggestions how to continue? We are struggling with this issue for weeks already.
