  • 1.  Reputation check timed out during unproven file evaluation

    Hello Everyone,

    Can you please help me to solve the error in the logs. I have disabled "Download insight.. based on file reputation" for a particular server. I was asked to do it temporarily. after i have disabled this option, i keep getting error messages in the symantec Log : "Reputation check timed out during unproven file evaluation, likely due to network delays", It also shows in the Windows event log. 

    Is this message expected after disabling this option? how can i get rid of it.

    This shouldn't show up. Did you just withdraw the policy?

    In addition go to the group that machine is in and select the Policies tab. Go to 'External COmmunications Settings' and make sure everything is unchecked here as well.

    Brian,

    Thank you so much for your quick and very helful response. After going to External Communications settings, i saw where " allow insight lookups for threat detection" was checked. I have unchecked this option. Hopefully after this, i wont see it on the log. Thanks again.

    Sounds good. Also, ensure the client has picked up the latest policy change. It won't take affect until that happens.
