  • 1.  Requirement for upgrading GUPs after going to 12.1.6

    Hi All,

We are currently planning to upgrade our server to 12.1.6MP2 and are trying to determine if it is ok to leave the GUPs at 12.1.3 for a while (month or 2). I know that the recommendation is to upgrade the GUPs at the same time, but I am not sure if this will be possible. We are hoping that someone has run in this configuration (or similar backleveled GUPs) and did not encounter any issues.

I have seen comments that state the the GUPs need to be upgraded before upgrading the clients and at this time, we do no plan to upgrade any other client systems for at least a couple months.

    Thanks for any comments.

    Martin

Yes it is recommended but not necessary. You can leave the GUPs on an older version and they will still hand out content to clients (newer and older).

Thanks Brian. Going to try to get the GUPs updated asap, but rebooting servers takes a bit of time :)

Same reason I could never get GUPs updated immediately after a SEPM upgrade :)
