Backup Exec installed in a Virtual Machine configured to use a Tape Drive connected using SCSI pass through is not recomended. Read these technotes for more clarification.

First thank you for your quick response!

It seems all good..
This error only occurs when Symantec cannot backup (media cannot be load, media cannot be verify, etc..)

Thanks

...against my advice, this was done for 1 of our clients. Big problems! Your issue won't be with BE...it's going to be when the tape library connection is lost between the ESX host and the HBA.

The only way around this will be to restart your ESX host. When it works, it works well (even when unsupported)...when it doesn't, it is a nightmare to solve! Stick with a physical server as your media server as suggested above.

Thanks!
