Resources not linking to a Software Product

Created: 31 Jan 2013 | 2 comments

Hi.  I created a software product for Microsoft Office Suite 2007 Service Pack 2, but only some of the resources are being picked up.  Here is what the properties look like.

It is finding 21 different versions, but there are still quite a few more, and I do not know how to get them to attach to this product.  Can someone help please?

Do they have the same software name '2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 2' and Company 'Microsoft'?  If they have a different software name or company, they will not appear.  Furthermore, if they have not been discovered by inventory, they will not appear.  Additionally, make sure they are not already part of other software products.  You can test this last piece by checking the box 'Include components with other products,' but in general if the results change with that text box, you'll want to resolve the issue so it's only associated with a single product.

There shouldn't be that many resources for Microsoft Office 2007, I'm not sure how Inventory could reliably differentiate between them all.

You might need to use "Resolve Duplicate Software Resources" to merge duplicate software resources.

As an interim fix you could try changing the "Software name" filter criteria, perhaps start with just office+2007
