We are trying to deploy IE11
Due to not using the Patch Management side of Alitiris yet we are trying to deploy using either a Task or Policy, as of right now we are usinf a Task.
I would like to switch to a Policy but I'm having big issue trying to restart a computer at the start of the poilicy and not triggering a fail of some kind. I could use the "restart on suscess" but as this is a multi step process and I would like a couple of restarts these can misfire.
Also if the install fails I don't want the policy to just keep restarting the policy so a restart in the vbscript would be the best option for me.
In the past when I have tried this I have either had
The job that triggers the restart fails or the job afterwards fails.
The reason for moving to a policy is the size of the deployment and number of smaller branch computers, I need to locally prestage the files which a Policy works great at.
this is kind of what I would like the policy to execute like
Restart computer
Install preupdates
Restart computer
Install Internet Explorer
Restart computer
Install Post updates
Restart computer
Any ideas how to achive this
