Restore Data on to new NB server

We are trying to put in place a new Disaster Recovery server. The current production server (node0) and a new server (dr1) are each running netbackup 6 as master servers.

We have copied a backup of the node0 catalog on to the new DR server and succeeded in recovering the catalog database on to the DR server by editing the HEADER file to change ALL references to node0 to dr1 (used bprecover to do this).

We are now trying to restore data on to the new server. In the NetBackup gui the NetBackup server = ches-cnc-dr1, Source Client = ches-cnc-node0; Destination client = ches=cnc-dr1

We get an error message from the restore "client hostname could not be found"

Could anyone offer some advice on what we are doing wrong.

Thanks

Simon.

Hi Simon,

Is your DR client with installed with NB? Have you perform the basic connectivity check between you DR master server & client, the client's bp.conf, etc? The best way to isolate this part of doubt is to initiate a small backup for this client from this "new" DR master server prior any restore.
