Dear All,
I had taken a full backup .. but it failed so I tried to take the remaining part of data in next backup so after completion of the same... I tried to restore a test ..but not suceeded.
I just want to know is it possible to restore data from a failed backup taken..
Thanks in advance
Manoj

When a backup failed, most often than not you would not be able to use the backup to do a restore. Re-do your backup again.
As PKH said it is better to have your backups successfull but one of my file server most often fails on shadow copy and sytem state but still I am able to restore other data. In backup exec event though it fails the backup; most of the time it will show you data in the restore but if you are not able to restore data from it then no one can do anything as Symantec recommends to have the backup successfull to restore it.
In netbackup if backup fails it doesn't create the catalog information so you have to get the successfull backup for sure.
