Hi All,
Need you expertise comments on below issue.

Environment
==========
Dc 2k8
E2k7
EV10
Backupexec 2010 r2

We have set the retention to delete expired emails older than 3 years from Evault database.
But we have the backup.
We want to retrieve archive of one user but as Evault support.
We have to create test environment with DC, E2k10 and Evault.
Then we need to restore the backup in test Evault serverr.
Then export the archive into PST.

My query is?

In backupexec we have any option to restore the single user archive and retrieve those emails with creating the test environment.

Please let me know...

Hi ,

An excerpt from the technote below says

The Enterprise Vault Agent lets you do the following:
Back up and restore Enterprise Vault archives from open or closed vault store partitions.
Back up and restore individual Enterprise Vault 7.x servers and Enterprise Vault 8.x vault store groups from an Enterprise Vault site.
Back up and restore Enterprise Vault sites, databases, and index locations.

Thanks and Regards, Backup Exec, BESR, Enterprise Vault

Hi,

If you're talking purely from a Backup Exec pespective (and taking EV out of the equation), BE 2012 introduced the ability to restore to a *.pst, effectively bypassing the need for an Exchange server to restore too.

Check the TN below:

Thanks!
