Is it possible to restore a vmdk that was backed up with Backup Exec 2012 vmware agent, to a seperate ESXi server.

We have a vCenter Server with 3 ESX Hosts. The backup is of one of the VMs on this cluster, and we would like to restore it on a ESXi server that is not in this cluster. This is mostly to test DR scenario, is this possible?

Thanks.

Quick Look Solution

So yes, you would just need

So yes, you would just need to do a redirected restore using the options available in the restore wizard and define the stand alone host and one of its local datastores as the target.

In addition to Lmossla answer

In addition to Lmossla answer above, you would still need the appropriate vStorage licensing from Vmware itself enabled on the ESXi host
