Restoring Exchange 2003 Mailbox to Exchange 2010

We have recently upgraded to Exchange 2010 from Excahnge 2003. We need to restore a mailbox from our year end backup which is from the 2003 server. Please can you advise if it is possible and if it is the best way to restore the mailbox into Exchange 2010

No, this question was here a time ago, and the conclusion was that this is not possible due to database incompatibility between 2003/2010

Hi Neil,

You'll have to duplicate the Exchange 2003 Information Store to disk manually yourself, and once on disk, use something like Ontrack Powercontrols to pull the details out of the offline *.edb.

Once done, you can copy the data from the *.psts that it creates into the Exchange 2010 mailboxes.
