Hello. Hopefully can get some help.
Couple of days ago I created spanned image using Ghost 2003, all turned up well - no errors, no indications of any kind of problems. Now theres need to restore some part of data, but im stuck -> Error Number: (8026)

I can't browse image (older version of ghost did nothing, newer shows questionmark on filesystem branch). Unable to verify image and cant restore also. Yesterday i finally succeeded to compile older image using SG 11.5, but no good (unable to browse new compiled image also). Chkimg argument gives me :
    Error Number: (437)
    Message: Cannot read from file

As much as i can tell, there seems to be problems with 3rd image file, ie file003.ghs. Id be interested in "bypassing" this file, so i could be able to restore all/most of the rest information. Is there any possibilities to cut this image file in a way that just header and some configuration data (supposedly in the beginning of file) are left behind ? Have done disk checking, copied from one hdd to another, etc. This image file is pretty large - 76GB = 37 spanned .ghs files. Or is there really no ways to restore anything else ?

I believe you cannot restore images with the trial version.

I have Ghost 2003/9.0/10.0 licences, and this trial ver should allow restoration of images made by this particular copy. Not sure is this compilation-created-image interpreted by Ghost as "new" image or is it still the old. Anyway, i've no problem in buying licence if that would help me. So far have used ghost for years wo mayor problems and even now i'd like to think there i s workaround or some kind of fix for my problem ?

If this is a Norton Ghost product that you are working with, I would draw your attention to the sticky posting at the top of this forum.

From all the past postings I have seen, the existence of a damaged GHS file cannot be circumvented or bypassed. However, are you restoring in an environment where an antivirus program might be blocking the access to your GHS file - perhaps due to some content in it that is "suspicious" ??

Personally, I have never used Ghost for backup or imaging of any critical data as I have found out the hard way that it only takes a minor glitch in one file to result in the loss of the entire data set, especially if compression is used.
