Restoring a system state backup on a Windows 2003 Server
Created: 30 Oct 2012 | 3 comments
Hi all,
I have Symantec backup running on my Server 2003 domain controller.
Today I removed a piece of software from the server which monitors a particular OU in Active Directory. I then noticed it had deleted that particular OU from Active Directory!
I am going to do a system restore from the Symantec backup to Sunday night and a C drive restore to Monday night. Can you advise of any problems I may encounter?
e.g. the system state and c drive backup are not from the same day, they're the latest backups I have.

please let me know if this is helpful.
Thanks for that, what is the easiet way to restore an OU back to Active Directory?
Can I just do this restore from within Windows?
If you are just recovering a OU from a GRT enabled backup, you can just run the restore job and select the OU to restore it. What version of Backup Exec are you using.
