Hi,

Is anyone aware of how we can restrict access to install packages within SEPM??

We need our IS out in the field to have Administrator access but would like to restrict access to assign install packages to groups to just the System Administrators and not the local Admin.

Thanks!

Open the console and go to

Open the console and go to Admin panel and click on Administrators (left bottom). Add a new administrator as a Limited Administrator :-)

Restricting Access to Install Packages

Limited admins still have access to the installation packages.

Well, in 11RU5 at least.

I resolved that by creating an AD group, add the limited admins to that group and removed the access to the directory on the drive (filesystem).

When a limited admin tries to create a package, an error message appears, but that has no negative effect, as far I know.
