Retain a backup set.

I have a BE2014 Environment with CASO and I need retain a backup set to infinite. How I can do this with tape backup set? The option "Retain" in backup set is disabled.

How are you managing your MMS? From the CASO by centralising your catalogs, or locally on each MMS?

Otherwise just create a new media set with infinite overwrite and move he tape into that, while physically protecting it with the protection tab.

The CASO centrally manages the MMS, but the media servers have full access to the catalog.

I was able to move the tapes as you reported. But it is possible to do this by backup sets?

No.  The entire tape is protected.

Additionally, the "Retain" and "Expire" options apply to disk-based storage devices.
