Reverse DNS entry help please

Created: 15 Aug 2012 • Updated: 15 Aug 2012 | 8 comments

I need help with PGP desktop email which has gone crazy.  This is now the message I get constantly.  I've just upgraded to 10.x and this problem has appeared.  It's not happened before.   I'm computer illiterate and need step by step help in fixing this.  Thanks!!

requires that all mail servers must have a PTR record with a valid Reverse DNS entry. Currently your mail server does not fill that requirement

Your 2nd article seems to probably address my concerns.  Again, I'm not computer savvy enough to want to try to do something by reading an article.  Is there a way to talk to a human about this?  Sorry for my lack of knowledge!

If you have a support contract, you can Create a Support Case.

Thanks for the help.  We don't have a contract since it was too costly for our 2 person non-profit office.  Can someone just call tech support and be charged by the hour?  Or do I need to find my own techie?

I'm not sure, but you might want to give this a try.

Speak to the people who host your website, give them that information and they will know what to do.

Please mark posts as solutions if they solve your problem!

Sherry, it sounds like a problem with the mail servers in your company who manage the email system are at fault here for that message. Reverse DNS needs to be setup through your hosting provider (like weevil) mentioned or you will not be able to email large email providers/ISP's such as comcast, yahoo, time warner cable, etc.  This is pretty much a necessity to send email today.
