Hello

I have attached my media server into SAN s/w. IBM 3584 is zoned for this server. In Windows 2000's Device Manager, Tape drive and Mediam Changer are showed normally. But when I used NetBackup's 'Device Configuration Wizard' to automatically define devices and storage unit, only tape drive has been detected. I have restarted the server but the problem is still there. Somebody help advise me.....

Anyway, the master server is on Windows 2003 in the separated server.

Thank you.

Instead of using the wizard try adding the robot manually. Sometimes the wizard will flake out. Also check the Windows system and application event logs and see if the robot is reporting any errors. Make sure that Removable Storage Management is disabled and stopped also.

I just went through the same process and was surprised how easy it was. I assume you have defined the control path on the ATL. Did you load the Veritas tape drivers?

Dear all

Sorry for my mistake. Finally I had manually defined shared drives in the shared library and the error message told me that licenses are not specified. And then I checked the licenses, the SAN Shared Storage Option and Tape Based Library were not entered. After I specified the licenses, the process worked properly.

Thank you all
