Rollup 13 for NS6 SP3 is out...

Release notes for R13 (suddenly available when you search on Windows 7) include support for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 (32 and 64-bit!) (including SP2 and R2) and upgrades to a number of  solution components including Monitor Solution (6.0.1341) ...woohoo. I looked for individual release notes on the upgraded components but have seen none as of yet. The Support Matrix doc hasn't been updated either. Would love to wait around for more documentation, but....I plan on beginning testing with VMs next week and will share my experience. Would love any feedback from early adopters.
    Thanks...

As far as I can tell, there are no solution component release notes. Hopefully this gets rectified, especially for those that have strigent change control procedures.

Ahh, excellent, thanks! I did find that link, and have now upgraded and it all looks good so far. Liking the support for Win7 etc. Also seems to have fixed an issue we were having with the Task Managment part of NS.

Same thing happened to me, Jim.  I think they're just trying to make us look bad!

In our environment we are only fully utilizing app metering and inventory solution on the NS/CMS side.  I did the upgrade to R13 this weekend and found no surprises.  I had to first install R13 then install the solution updates.  The only thing I really caught was the app metering configuration settings did get adjusted by the upgrade, but I took a screen shot of that page before the upgrade and was able to quickly plug my settings back in.

I think the upgrade to R13 also disables the Altiris Agent Upgrade policy as I swear I remember I left that enabled but noticed it was disabled after the upgrade.

the upgrade task is usually disabled by the upgrade process. This is to keep the server from being flooded processing upgrade requests.

Anyone tried installing R13 without solution components? I have tried that in the test environment and it is working fine. Is this creates any issues in the future??

Hope they will release the release notes for solution components soon!! smiley

As mentioned, one of the primary benefits of the R13 roll-up is Windows 7\2008 support. So if the base is installed, that should help with core collections and reports. However, if you don't upgrade the other solutions, that functionality may be affected.

I received an email from Doug Jenkins today (Inventory support guru! laugh) indicating that an issue with Custom Inventory on 64bit boxes (when specifically querying the Wow3264Node key in the registry) is fixed in the Inventory upgrade portion of the R13/May update package.  See AKB51851 (though it hasn't been updated to reflect this fix).
