Rosetta STILL down?
Hi all
3 weeks after, and evevent.symantec.com is still unreachable.
With rosetta down, it's quite a hassle to go through all the Event ID's EV generates, search one at a time in these forums.
Any news regarding this matter?
Thks
Daniel
The server is being moved,
The server is being moved, but I don't have an ETA.
Check again please.
Hi rob,
Any idea when Rosetta will be available again? I am still unable to connect to it. 7 weeks to move a server and make it available again is slow, even for me ;-)
Or, is it silently decommisioned?
Thank you, Gertjan

As far as I know, it was out of commission for years
I asked this same questions a few years back... last I saw Rosetta working externally was 3 years ago. There was an internal link that used to work for it (but you had to type it manually; the link in the event viewer didn't get you there), but I think that one is gone as well last I checked a year ago.
Would be nice to have it back!

Can someone try Rosetta now?

Interesting... not working for me
Am I doing something wrong? Trying to go to any of these links fail (the last one is a guess from memory, as I'm not on an EV server now):
http://evevent.symantec.com/
http://evevent.symantec.com/rosetta/
http://evevent.symantec.com/rosetta/showevent.asp

Your links are correct, and
Your links are correct, and should work. Maybe stale DNS?
It should resolve to :
Name: evevent.veritas.com
And your last link is spot on :
If on Symantec VPN it doesn't resolve correctly
For other employees who run into this: if on the Symantec network via VPN it seems to have a problem resolving the evevent.symantec.com address. Thanks Rob for the direct IP link, this works. Alternatively you can use the internal variants of these links.

how does one get a login for rosetta? it doesnt appear to use the same credentials as the forum.
Andy Becker | Authorized Symantec Consultant | Trace3 | Symantec National Partner | www.trace3.com
Andrew, you don't need one.
The event in event viewer has this format :
http://evevent.symantec.com/rosetta/showevent.asp, at least that is what is visible. If you click on it, Help and Support will load (unless you have Windows 2003 SP 2 bug) and the actual URL will be something like this :
EvtCat=Monitoring%20&EvtID=41011&EvtCatID=106&EvtType=Warning&
EvtTypeID=2&EvtRptTime=1280167743&EvtTZBias=300&
CoName=Symantec%20Corporation&
ProdName=Enterprise%20Vault&ProdVer=8.0.4.0&FileName=VaultMessages.dll&FileVer=8.0.4.1991
http://evevent.symantec.com/rosetta/showevent.asp?EvtID=3197
Hope that helps,
perfect. thanks!
