I am moving your post from

I am moving your post from the General Symantec forum to the SEP/AV forum. The SEP/AV forum provides support for the SAV product.

Cheers,
Thomas

I also have this problem on

I also have this problem on some of my older machines. It seems that with each new version, SEP uses more system resources. Now if I have an older laptop boot up and it auto-runs a scan, the machine is almost completely unresponsive until it's finished.

It might be best to create a policy that doesn't run the auto scan on boot, but maybe at night.

Also, even though I said newer versions might be slower, you actually have a very old version of the client. Try to update to the latest version.

using High Memory

Hello.
İ am not sure this is fix your problem but i fixed my problem this way.
First Upgrade your SEP version
download latest definitions and updates from Symantec for SEP
download all critical and security patch From Microsoft.
If you have celeron CPU you need more RAM But I prefer Min Pentium 4. 3 Ghz. and min 1 Gb Ram for good performance.
by the way look risk logs.
Thanks
Fatih
