  • 1.  rtvscan.exe from SEP 11.0.4202.75 on windows 2000 fileserver uses 90-100% CPU

    Windows 2000 Server SP4
    2GB RAM
    Xeon 5130 CPU 2 Ghz

After installing SEP on my fileserver and the filescan begins the modul rtvscan.exe uses between 90-100% CPU? and the machine off cause becomes very slow and almost unable to remotely manage as the rdp connection to it is almost times out before connection is established.

Antivirus and spyware modul is the only installed on the machine.

Most Important--Make sure you are at the latest verison of SEP (11.0.4202.xx)

    1. Disable Network Scanning.--in File system Auto-Protect
2 Schedule your full system scan at weekends
3.Enable Netowork Chaching -File System Auto-Protect-Advanced.

I run the latest SEP 11.0.4202.75
    Network scanning is disable
    Network Caching is enable

I have already scheduled full scan in the weekend. But as this is an upgrade, and no full scan has been done, the full system scan automatically starts until is has been fully done even if you pskill the rtvscan.exe process

What do you mean by network caching?

Why you open SEP, is Network Threat Protection enabled?
