Run Inventory Install/Uninstall as Task

Created: 19 Jun 2013 | 6 comments

Hi,

This is a NS 7.1. Do I need to import the exe or msi into the software catalog? I want to do this for testing, not on a large scale basis. What is the name of the file and where can it be found?

The Inventory Agent package is located here:

\\NS_SERVER_NAME\nscap\bin\Win32\X86\Inventory\Agent Package

You'd have to import it into the Catalog.  It might link up with found software, but I'm not seeing it in my environment, and we have Inventory on all systems.

I did find out that you don't need to import the Inventory plugin. It already was in the software catalog. As far as the Symantec Management Agent. That does need to be imported. Why I am not sure. Anyone?

My Agent is in the software catalog, as well as my Inventory Agent.  I apparently didn't scroll down enough to see it.

Hi,

Are you running NS 7.1? If yes, what is the name in the software catalog?

I am running NS 7.1.  When I go to Manage/Software Catalog, and search the Newly Discovered/Undefined software for Symantec Management Agent, every version I've had out there shows.  Also note that it shows on the Newly Discovered Software view from Manage/Software.
