  • 1.  Run a Report with more than 50000 results

    I know there is a limit of returned results(50000) but I need to run a report that has more than that.  I saw a article about changing the coresettings.config file and increase the ReportMax count but I cant change it, it says access denied.  Any ideas?

    But what are you going to do with a report that has 50,000 rows? Process each row? Sounds like you need to write a better report.

    Management wants to know every piece of software installed on every PC/server.

     

    I was using the "Installed Software by Computer" report.

    In 6.x I used the "Audit Software by Domain" report but doesnt seem to exist in 7.1 SP1

    Find Notepad (or Wordpad), right click and say Run as Administrator.  Then, use Open->File and navigate to coresettings.config - you should be able to edit it now.
