Hi Everyone,

I am having an interesting issue with Altiris. When I run the PXE Configuration Utility then click on edit boot image the boot disk creator starts but then quits.  When I run it on its own from the menu it starts up fine.

Running Altiris 6.9 sp1

Anyone have the same or similar issue?

Event Viewer

It sounds like it's crashing.  I would check your event viewer.  It might shed some light on what is going on and if there is something causing the crash.

PXE Configuration tool problem

I am also experiencing an issue with the PXE configuration tool when I try to create a new boot image it just hangs up it doesn't give an error the page just never opens for the boot disk creator. I can open the boot disk creator with out the PXE configuration but I really need to create some PXE boot disks for imaging the only one that is working is the universal NIC so I can not mulitcast. I can't find any errors in the event viewer. I am running DS6.9 no service packs installed.

PXE Configuration tool problem

Upgraded the DS 6.9 to sp2 and the PXE configuration tool has started to behave. I have had a few instances where I have to reboot the server after building a PXE disk image but it does work now. I can multicast and I'm able to image in about 6 minutes using WINPE. I was using DOS before the upgrade and the imaging took about 20-25 minutes so I am pretty satisfied with the upgrade results.

PXE woes

After the operations staff did some server updates the PXE server is acting very badly. They also put the SEP agent on the server it's taking about 6-9 hours to pull an image :(  very frustrated
