the error i posted in https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/error-ed800002a is BACK!!!!

so i Ran Live-Update which said we had the latest version of Backup Exec SR already.

So Then Ran the Live update manual update, from Symantec website

Ran Liveupdate again and still said i had the latest version

in liveupdate there is no option for Backup Exec System Recovery.

Downloaded the 8.5.5 patch below

ftp://ftp.support.veritas.com/pub/support/products/Backup_Exec_System_Recovery_Server_Edition/

and it states Gives the follwoing error
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the window installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may be a different ot the program. Verify that the program exists on you computor and that you have the correct upgrade patch."

the file i downloaded was
Symantec_Backup_Exec_System_Recovery_8.5.5_Patch_335028.exe

Am I downloading the wrong patch? or doing anything wrong here?

Possibly but I just wanted

Possibly but I just wanted you to confirm this for us. If you do, you may need to do a complete re-install of 8.5.
