  • 1.  Running newer version of client with older version of SEPM

    Hello,

As you know, 12.1 RU4 is now out.  I'm currently running RU3 on the SEPM.  I have a couple of Win 8.1 clients on our network.  The version of SEPM we are on is 12.1 RU3.  Are there any known issues w/ having clients that are on RU4 with the SEPM being on RU3?

I'm just wondering if there are any known problems, such as policies not getting pushed out to the client, definitions, etc.  Any info anyone has on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

This should not be a problem. SEPM 12.1 can manage any version of 12.1 clients. It's always recommended to have both on the same version but this should work.

    Hello,

There should not be an issues with reporting of latest SEP 12.1.4 clients to the older version of SEPM 12.1.3

However, I would recommend you to install the Latest version of 12.1.4 on SEPM as well.

For this to happen, you would have to import the latest packages of SEP 12.1.4 to the SEPM 12.1.3

Download the Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.4_Part1_Installation_EN.exe and extract the files. Later follow the steps provided in the article below:

How to manually import client packages into Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM)

    Hope that helps!!
