Greetings,

I have one Netware 6.5SP8 server with version 10.1.8.8000 installed.  After loading, the server abends and has this in the abend.log:

The CPU encountered a problem executing code in RTVSCAN.NLM.  The problem may be in that module or in data passed to that module or in data passed to that module by a process owned by RTVSCAN.NLM.

The realtime engine seems to load and run properly, but the device never receives updates properly.

I have already uninstalled and re-installed the agent, as well as ensuring that all other software packages were not loaded (i.e. commenting out the load lines of all other services and manually loading SAV using vpstart.

Without fail, SAV will abend, and the only way I can get the server to accept a definitions update is to do a manual file copy to the server, and reboot.
If I try to unload SAV, it will hang on the unloading process (it won't cause another abend, it just never unloads).

Any ideas?

one suggestion

IPX can cause many problems for version 10.x. Is IPX enabled on this Netware Server?

If it is not then I suggest opening a case with support.

Just a FYI for folks that may

Just a FYI for folks that may find this via a search.
After opening a ticket, the Tech directed me to version 10.1.9.9000.
This version wasn't available in our customer center for download, so after they fixed that I downloaded and installed this newer version.

This version seems to have solved the issue.

Yes, 10.1.9.9000 fixes it

Same here, have been running 10.1.9.9000 for 2 weeks now, no abends.
