Morning All, When uninstalling SAV server/client 8 from our windows 2003 servers, the uninstallation gets to the "stopping symantec services" part and halts/hangs. Then the server seems to lose RPC ability and you cant remote reboot or anything, you have to physically reboot the box, which can be a major hassle with all the remote sites we have all over Australia.
Once the box is then back up, you cannot then install V10 server on the machine. I receive the old favorite "Installation interupted before it could complete", sometimes if you are lucky corp server V9 will install ok.
Why are these servers being crippled by this uninstallation in such a dramatic fashion, six so far have displayed this exact behaviour.
And how can I install V10 without this annoying message, and yes I hve followed the manual removal doco on the symantec site, and also have run cleanwipe twice on each machine.
