SAV Parent didn't distributed the Definition Update to the client

Dear All,

Need some help for below situation :

Our SAV parent didn't distribute the definition update to the client even the parent already updated.

Currently we're manage SAV server with below specification :

1. Parent using Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition

2. All client are also using the same OS with the parent

3. SAV version 10.1.0.394

I will suggest you can Upgrade SAV 10 to SEP 12.1

Definition updates usually cease on the End of Support Life date. In this case it is 7/4/12.

EOSL means that technical support will no longer be provided for SAV CE 10.x.  All support services, including without limitation, virus definition updates, bug fixes/patches and engineering modification, for SAV CE 10.x will end on the EOSL date.

FURTHER SUPPORT OPTIONS

For a fee, a Partial Support period and an extension of the virus definitions can be made available for up to 12 months past the EOSL date. For more information, read the document How to request a virus definition extension for Symantec AntiVirus 10.x Corporate Edition beyond its End-of-Support-Life date.

Hi Wandi,

SAV version 10.1.0.394

Even if definitions continued coming from Symantec indefinitely, it is doubtful if they will be applied reliably by these SAV clients.  This RTM release of SAV 10 dates from days when definitions were about 15 MB in size.  These clients were never designed to process the 170 MB files currently in use. DEFINITELY upgrade to SEP!

Hi,

You must consider to upgrade to the latest SEP version.

You can directly upgrade to SEP 12.1 & It's supported at this point.

For all existing license customer it's a free upgrade & you are missing benefits of it.

One more question, if the Site didn't support all things about SAV v10 again why we still having some server which already update with the latest definition.
