Hi All,
We are a RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.7 architecture. I was wondering if/what version of SAVLINUX supports this system requirements?
We have purchased the Crtical Server Protection package which contains SEP, CSP, and SAVLINUX, but I think that is bundled with an earlier version of SAVLINIUX.
Can someone please provide some insight into this? Thanks.

Hello,
I believe RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.7 architecture is supported by SAV Linux.
Check this Article:

I am reading that it is not supported. SEP 12.1 supports management of Windows clients only.
Is there any Linux AV for RHEL 5.7? Thanks.
SAV for linux can be installed , check the system requirement guide,
the linux client cannot be managed however you can report

Symantec AntiVirus supports the following Linux distributions:
■ Red Hat® Enterprise Linux 3.0 ES (RHEL3ES)
■ SuSE™ LINUX Enterprise Server 9 (SLES9)
■ Novell® Linux Desktop 9 (NLD9)
These distributions are supported on computers using Intel 486-, 586-, and 686-
compatible CPUs.

My apologies, here are the correct kernels that are supported.
RedHat Enterprise Linux 6.x
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and Enterprise Desktop 11.x (includes support for OES 2)
Ubuntu 11.x
Fedora 14.x, 15.x
Debian 6.x

Sorry, I am confused now. So RHEL 5.7 is supported? if so, via which SAVLINUX version? ultimately, I am going to call Symantec support to have the updated licenses provided, but I need to know which versions can be installed on RHEL 5.7. Thanks.
You should check the tech document noted above for kernel versions supported by Symantec AntiVirus for Linux 1.0 Maintenance Release 14. "RHEL5U7" is listed, but I don't know if that translates to 5.7.
The link again: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH101598
Edit: If you keep scrolling down you will see which kernels were added in previous builds. Newer builds include the older ones.

Support for RHEL 5.7 was added in SAV 1.0 MR12.

Hello,
I agree with Sandra above.
You may need to check the Kernel version and install SAV Linux accordingly.

OK, I dont want to confuse people more, but I thought SEP 12.1 didnt support Linux? When I got to the downloard site to ge tthe latest Symantec Antivirus for Linnux, I saw SEP 12.1 for linux client?
Can someone explain (5th from bottom)? Thanks.
It's just the linux client that comes with 12.1 package, not necessarily 12.1 for linux as noted above by the version already mentioned.

I'm really not sure why SAV for Linux 1.0 MR13 and the "SEP 12.1 Linux Client" are both included, since the version I see available with SEP 12.1 RU1 MP1 is the same (also MR13). Maybe the SAV for Linux download is part of Critical System Protection, and it's all available on the same serial number through Fileconnect.
As noted below, there is technically no "SEP for Linux."

"Thumbs up" to the advice, above! SAV for Linux (SAVFL) ships with SEP, but cannot be fully managed by the SEPM.
Here are three proposed enhancement requests that followers of this thread may wish to support:
Also, here is an article that can help:
With thanks and best regards,
