Messaging Gateway

I am trialling Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.0.1 as VMware VM.  I cannot login to the SBG using IE8 (on 64 bit Win 7 client) I have tried both 64 and 32 bit IE 8 and have tried "Compatibility View" and adding the "Tructed Sites"  - when I try and login it accepts my credentials however it gets stuck in a loop displaying a login screen inside a window designed for the End User Licence Agreement licencing screen:


 


I can connect fine from IE7

Is this a known issue (no mention in the release notes) or a problem with my configuration.

had the same problem with IE8 in Vista, accpepted the license terms through Firefox instead. The rest of the administration of the gateway does work with IE8, I haven't at least found any more similair problems so far.

Problem solved, you are using an unsupported browser...  Go to Firefox, or another machine with IE7 installed.  IE8 is so new, that I doubt it will be supported for a while, let alone a patch made just for this from Symantec due to lack of initial market share.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 has been around for a while and this issue is still there in Brightmail version 8.0.3-11. When will IE8 be supported?

This is a known issue as mentioned in the following KB article:
