Hi, we have a problem with LDAP sync:
After setting an LDAP sync from our 8.5 domino server, we successfully sync our CC (107 read, 6 rejected) but after it every synchronization with local host scanner (the only one scanner) report failed after only 1 second, with 0kB transfered
Scanner services are OK, and comunication with scanner, from dashboard page, seems OK
No issues reported in logs

Any idea?

Unfortunately LDAP Synchronization doesn't actually support Domino LDAP directories over version 7.0.2.
 

Can you give some insight as to what you use LDAP Sync for?  There may be some other options to achieve what you are doing.

We need invalid recipient rejection for our  two domains (the second one is a domain alias). We'll use recipient validation istead (or a manual export, perhaps). We preferred sync because domino server is not always up (we have a nightly backup window)

Recipient Validation is probably the way to go here, from what I can remember if the LDAP source isn't available we'll actually send a temporary mail failure to the sending SMTP server anyway so no messages should really be getting lost.

In the future I think we are also going to look at having an LDAP cache which should help with these downtime problems and we are looking at giving more flexibilty with what can be done when the LDAP server isn't available.

Hi Paul, So the sending SMTP server makes a connection, when it gives the 'rcpt to:' the SBG responds with a 4xx temporary failure saying to try again later. Any valid SMTP server will continue to try to send the message most likely at least 6 times over a multiple day period. Kevin

Hi, Finally I solved my problem
There was a space at the end on one of our Domino directory entry...
So, removed space, the replication started working without problems also with domino 8.5
Strange thing: Recipient Validation and Replication with CC worked fine, ignoring the space
