When symantec decided to end the SMSSMTP product and provide an upgrade path to SBG, i looked into our possibilities.
I have to install a new virtualisation server, so the right way to go would be the Virtual appliance version of SBG. That would not be a problem, but the server we want, is delivered as standard with ESXi4 embedded. (Fujitsu RX300S5). This is no problem for our other applications, but as I looked into the system requirements for SBG virtual appliance, it states that only ESXi3.5 is supported. ESXi4 is not mentioned at all. Is there somebody who has installed SBG virtual appliance onto ESXi4 ? Do you run into problems ? Or is is just a install and go situation. I am asking this because I've had support issues with SMS for SMTP, which was not supported on WIN2K3R2, and the Symantec helpdesk was not able to help me further in that case.
