This issue has been solved. See solution.

new installation of 11.0.4202.75 sbs2008x64, client is inside a hyper-v, srv 2003 standard.

when troubleshooting communications by using http://<ip>:8443/secars/secars?hello,secars both servers get strange characters in the reply

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/1527/secarsencodi...
the one with the squares is the 2003 guest, the other is the 2008 host with sepm on it.

does anyone know why this is?

wrong port

Hi,

you are testing the communication in the wrong port, the secars does not listen on port 8443 but on port 8014 (by default, of course).

no problem

no problem, you cannot know the whole SEPM architecture.
If you don't need nothing else you can select a post as the solution.
