  • 1.  Scan the ENDPOINT agent by machine (Filter by IP address)

    Posted Apr 20, 2010 09:48 PM
    Hi all,

In Endpoint file system in Discover Targets, we tried to filter a IP address of a Endpoint machine. "Include Filter" seems not work (Number of files scanned is "0") but "Exclude Filter" is functionable. Pls advise.

And how can we know to scan which the endpoint machine?

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

when you run an Endpoint scan, it runs on all endpoints. you can exclude any computers you wish from it.
All the computers will be scanned unless suggested otherwise.

I cannot seem to understand your needs, as i said - everything is included unless suggested otherwise.
As to the matter of which is stronger, an exclude or include filter, I do not know the answer.

We have only two endpoint machines "192.168.1.1" and "192.168.1.2". I set "Include Filter"  - the IP address "192.168.1.1". Number of files scanned is "0" but  set "Exclude Filter"  - the IP address "192.168.1.2". Number of files scanned > "0"

    Pls explain.
