Protection Engine for Network Attached Storage

I cannot seem to find any section in the admin guide nor KB articles around backing the server up (server layer).

We use VCB within ESX - Are there any special considerations or exclusions we need to set for backing this server up or can it be treated like any other member server?  Are there any artlces I can reference?

No special considerations for Scan Engine it self if the server it is on is being backed up. You may not want to backup the scan engine temp location.
