this is not possible , check this link

Auto Scan once USB plugged in

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH102573

Symantec Antivirus does not currently run an automatic System Scan on the contents of flash drives when they are first plugged in. A manual scan on the contents of a flash drive can be initiated by right-clicking on the drive in My Computer and choosing Scan for Viruses.

Agree with Pete in this point. That is not possible.

How come other vendors do this automatically? Why doesnt Symantec have this option -almost 90% of all viruses that infect out +- 40000 machines come from a USB drive. Come on, get this right and it will be seen as a positive way to use the product.

the threats will be detected since Auto protect is on. Hence SEP will take care of threats when accessed using USB.

I do understand the SEP "when accessed" autoprotect will do its job, but what happens if there is an infected file that I am not aware of - "hidden" attributes? It then automatically infects the machine - these are the "undetected threats" that SEP 11 cannot see....we have found almost 3-4 different variations of .exe's
that are hidden but still execute even if you dont "access them"..how else besides manually scan can removable drives be scanned?
